BlinkMobile’s first client in this sector saw the introduction of activity-based apps for the workplace as an excellent way to build business efficiencies and gain a competitive advantage. Beginning with an a simple app to support the 12 staff responsible for servicing over 3000 worksite and portable toilets, the client quickly saw savings that amounted to many hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Subsequent apps became more detailed and addressed the problem of maximising the clients return on their equipment investment. The client identified that every hour it took to check returning equipment back into its asset management system cost it significant amounts of potential revenue. If the equipment wasn’t shown as available then new hires would be missed entirely as the customer would most likely go to a competitor. The custom app used by each of the yard supervisors has reduced the time taken to show returned equipment as ‘available for hire’ from hours down to a few minutes.
